Leona Spivey, also known as Ms. Leona, has over 20 years of experience supporting women through their pregnancies. She started with Black Mothers United as a Pregnancy Coach and is now the Program Manager. Leona truly loves what she does and is always ready to support women and families in any way possible. She enjoys supporting the team to provide the highest quality service possible. She has faced many challenges and is not shy about sharing her past if it means helping someone not make the same mistakes that happened to her. She is a mother of seven – four biological and three stepchildren- and has six grandchildren. Her favorite thing about being a grandmother is just watching the babies grow and making sure they stay out of trouble. Her experience of being a mom and grandmother has added to her innate ability to be a supportive, understanding, fun-loving pregnancy coach. Leona LOVES cooking – especially Sunday dinners, and she goes all out from the main course to desserts. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves old-school Southern Blues music. Ms. Leona was born and raised in Sacramento. She has experienced the changes and growth of the community over the years and is honored to do what she loves to do – give back to others.
