Biography

Tamara Walton joined Her Health First in 2018 after being a client in the Black Mothers United program when she was pregnant with her son. After having such a positive experience with her Pregnancy Coach, Tamara wanted to find a way to give back and help other Black moms, specifically those lacking support, to improve their maternal health outcomes. Tamara’s passion and personal motherhood experience inspired her to go above and beyond for clients. She affirms that they are worthy of a beautiful pregnancy experience. She believes in empowering women as mothers and encourages clients to find support networks through participation in group-style learning events, such as Mommy Mingles. Her past clients describe her as very empathetic to their experience. She not only has two beautiful children, but her experience as a client of BMU provides an even deeper understanding of the realities her moms are facing. She believes that Black women, helping other Black women, helps the community.  In addition to her dedication to the moms she is working with, Tamara is a Jewel of All Trades! She loves working with her hands to make beautiful creations to share with others. She bakes, cooks, crafts, crochets, sews, and is currently practicing acrylic nail designs! Check her out on Facebook at “So Tam (that’s her) Crafty.” Tamara looks forward to supporting all moms that come through BMU and offer her unique perspectives of being a client and having children of her own. She is looking forward to reconnecting and building community once it is safe to do so.
