Black Mothers United is a program that provides education, resources and support to pregnant African-American women residing in Sacramento County in order to help ensure a smooth and safe pregnancy, and a healthy baby.
Black Mothers United provides assistance to expectant African-American women residing in Sacramento County. Eligible women are paired with a Personal Advocate who provides them with individualized support and guidance throughout their pregnancy, and up to four months after the baby is born.
Below is a brief description of the services provided in the Black Mothers United program. We know that in many cases, the lack of transportation can stop our clients from taking full advantage of them. That’s why, if needed, we provide them with transportation to medical and pregnancy-related appointments, in-home visitations, and our support group meetings.
We can’t wait to help you have the best pregnancy possible…because our babies matter!
Support groups meet monthly and are open to all participants in the program. Here are the details:
“Everyone is loving, caring and very supportive. They treat people like family. My Personal Advocate provided me with childbirth lessons and to expect during labor.”
