Unless otherwise noted, the FREE events listed below are held at our mid-town Sacramento facility located at 4625 44th Street. Our program is administered by the Center of Community Health and Well Being, Inc. (CCHWB) and is funded by First 5 Sacramento Commission.

1st Annual Jazz Fest

When: February 17, 2017 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: Studio 817 Events, 817 16th Street, Sacramento, CA

This fundraiser directly benefits the CCHWB’s Black Mothers United program, which provides education, resources and support to pregnant African American women residing in Sacramento County, to help ensure a safe pregnancy, and a healthy baby.

Event hosted by Shannon READ, Charlene CARR, Selenne ALATORRE,Dr. Richard CALLAHAN, and Leron LEE.  Music Donated by saxophonist, Renaldo CROOKS. Midtown Jazz has been bringing smooth ‘Bay Area’ style jazz music to Sacramento since 2008, with the ability to play a smooth mix of jazz, R&B, soft rock and Latin Music. CCHWB has been serving Sacramento since 1991, by providing low-income, African American pregnant women with access to health care, comprehensive prenatal care, and psychosocial services.


Support Group Meetings are available for all eligible moms that are either currently enrolled in the BMU program, or have been previously enrolled. The purpose of these meetings is to give women a chance to make new friends and contacts.

Typically, they are held the second Thursday of every month from 11 :00 am – 1:00 pm at our 4625 44th Street, Sacramento, Ca 95820, location unless otherwise noted on our Calendar page. It is a great way to reach out and offer one another support. It’s also an opportunity for moms to sit back, relax, share stories, and learn from each other.

  • 09/12/16 – TOPIC:  Normalizing Therapy (2nd Monday) – Guest Speaker is Alondra Thompson, LCSW​
  • 10/13/16 – TOPIC:  Healthy Cooking (2nd Thursday) – Enjoy hands-on cooking led by Erica Allen!
  • 11/10/16 – TOPIC:  Early Literacy/Sharing books and songs at home (2nd Thursday) -Meet Donna Zick from the Sacramento Library and create a baby book made from soft felt.
  • 12/08/16 – TOPIC:  Giving thanks for people, not the gifts (2nd Thursday) – Enjoy a team building scavenger hung!
  • 01/12/17 – TOPIC: Managing Your Money Wisely​ (2nd Thursday)02/09/17 – TOPIC:  Health and Wellness – Keeping good care of yourself (2nd Thursday)
  • 03/09/17 – TOPIC:  Single Parenting – Team Problem Solving and Self-Assessment (2nd Thursday)


There’s nothing like a Baby Shower to celebrate the arrival of our babies. This event is available to all moms who are in the program and have delivered. Raffles and prizes are included.

Typically, a Baby Shower is held once per quarter from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at our 4625 44th Street, Sacramento, Ca 95820, location unless otherwise noted on our Calendar page.
